Position Summary

The Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC) is seeking applications for a Research Associate-fixed term (Postdoc) to conduct switchgrass research with Dr Berkley Walker. The GLBRC is one of four Bioenergy Research Centers, funded by the US Department of Energy.

The successful applicant will join a team investigating the physiological responses of switchgrass to drought, and how this response relates to ultimate biomass digestibility. Especially desired are applicants with experience with below-ground processes and exposure to how drought effects above-ground biomass characteristics. This position will be highly collaborative, interfacing with other members of the Walker Lab and others within the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Biology, Plant Biology, Biochemistry, or

Minimum Requirements

A PhD in Biology, Plant Biology, Biochemistry or related discipline, along with experience with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, switchgrass physiology, and basic plant physiology are required.

Desired Qualifications

Evidence of past or upcoming publications is highly desired.
