Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics in the College of Osteopathic Medicine, is seeking an Assistant Professor of Health Programs for a 12 month fixed-term faculty position, with the intention of renewal after this period.  We currently have three office locations in the greater Lansing area, providing outpatient primary care to our community, while also teaching and precepting our medical students.  Our inpatient responsibilities include well newborn care to our patients at a local hospital, while the hospitalists and the Regional NICU and PICU provide care to our patients that are admitted to the hospital.

MSU is the only university in the country with on-campus medical schools graduating allopathic and osteopathic physicians, as well as veterinarians. The faculty and staff at MSUCOM Department of Pediatrics are part of a collaborative health care delivery system that has earned an exemplary reputation for caring for children with complex health care needs.  MSU HealthCare, along with other health systems in the region provide not only primary care to children of our area, but also include pediatric sub-specialist providers working together to meet the needs of our community.

When not providing direct patient care, our physicians work with the greater college and university community, including various committees, teaching responsibilities for both medical students and residents, quality improvement practices, and research opportunities.  COM teaches first and second year students at it's main campus in East Lansing, as well as campuses in Macomb and the Detroit Medical Center.  There is a partnership with Sparrow Hospital Pediatric Residency Program, and our physicians serve as preceptors for the residents at their continuity clinics.
