Position Summary

The MSU College of Education Office of Academic Affairs seeks an administrative assistant to support the College of Education Director of Educator Preparation and Accreditation in accreditation and continuous improvement tasks and to support the Academic and Student Affairs Office, leading the college undergraduate scholarship competition award process and serving as the MAED program coordinator.


Job Components:

-Supporting the Educator Preparation and Accreditation Director with educator preparation and accreditation tasks, communication, and events. The work would include but is not limited to: preparing and verifying the accuracy of records and reports; creating a housing system of and sharing accreditation and educator program documents; gathering and inputting data on various platforms; generating, reviewing and sending communications in assistance of assisting the Director of EPP; processing financial paperwork; supporting meetings and events; updating websites and informational documents; creating organizational charts, directories, and documents; creating courses in our Watermark Student Learning and Licensure system, processing events and travel requests and expenses.
-Coordinate the College of Education undergraduate scholarship competition. Serves as the lead for the college undergraduate scholarship award process by providing oversight and coordination for the college-wide and office scholarships; leads multi-department communication for scholarship selection committees, assures compliance, eligibility requirements, and policy; analyzes information and makes decisions related to the award process; prepares and verifies the accuracy of records and reports; provides summary reports, coordinates the dissemination of undergraduate scholarships for the college at approximately 160+ scholarships.
-Serve as MAED program coordinator, facilitating the admissions process in Slate and attending bi-monthly meetings of the Grad Program Support (GPS) Network.

This position will be a hybrid schedule, mostly remote with some in-person attendance for pre-arranged events and meetings.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in word processing, spreadsheet, database and/or desktop publishing software; presentation and webpage software; typing and filing; maintaining accounting ledgers; may require knowledge of technical or medical terminology and/or technical knowledge or training related to the field of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • BA degree in any college or field connected to the position’s qualifications
  • A working knowledge of:
    • Professional writing – proofreading, drafting emails, promotional materials, writing project reports
    • Creating informational publications and navigating/creating information to post on websites
    • Data Entry
