Position Summary

The Department of Pathology & Diagnostic Investigation at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Michigan State University, invites applications for a multi-year renewable (fixed-term, AN) faculty appointment in Veterinary Anatomy at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, depending on qualifications and experience. This full time position will primarily consist of teaching (> 65% effort), but may also include research/scholarly activities, clinical service, outreach, and academic service responsibilities. Teaching duties include a consistent, broad, and clinically relevant presentation of veterinary anatomy in our systems-based professional veterinary curriculum. Additional duties may include anatomy course design and development, and mentoring students in elective applied anatomy modules. Applicants with clinical experience using applied anatomy and/or veterinary board specialty certification are encouraged to apply.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Veterinary Medicine

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and/or PhD (or equivalent degree). The successful applicant must have a strong commitment to providing outstanding and innovative instruction across all systems and significant teaching experience. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills as well as a documented ability to work in a team environment are required.

Desired Qualifications

Clinical or anatomical experience; experience teaching anatomy or a closely related applied topic (such as surgery, pathology or radiology) to diverse groups is preferred. Excellent English language skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse teams with faculty, staff, and students. Demonstrated ability to teach diverse audiences effectively and inclusively. Interest in an innovative approach to pedagogy, integrating multiple disciplines, and methods. Teaching experience, preferably with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives. Evidence of research accomplishments and/or clinical skills if the candidate anticipates some activity in these areas. Potential for contributing to the mission of CVM and MSU.
