Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations

Position Summary

MSU Athletics is searching for an Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations to assist with facility management and scheduling of set up and tear down of equipment for home athletic events and practices. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in all necessary communication and support completion of necessary paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
• Attend and participate in all event management meetings.
• Oversight of Facility Operations work group. Assist with set up and tear down on an as needed basis.
• Assist with Scheduling and planning of all athletic facility operations including, but not limited to: all scheduling of work, work orders, moving of equipment and bleachers, clean up pre and post-events, set up and tear down of athletic facilities.
• Ensure set-up and tear-down of facilities and equipment is completed as needed.
• Oversight of facilities including, Old College Field, Indoor and Outdoor Tennis, the boathouse and rowing facility.
• Assist with scheduling and planning tower tours and events when applicable.
• Assist with Facility Management and scheduling at various athletic facilities.  Old College Field, Indoor and Outdoor tennis, boathouse and the rowing facility.
• Assist with outside rentals of facilities as needed.
• Coordinate and assist with football clean up.
• Scheduling and maintenance of equipment.
• Assisting with key requests and maintaining records.
• Ordering of supplies.
• Support the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics mission statement and exemplify the core values that have been identified for all employees.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• A Bachelors Degree and one to three years experience working with college athletic events and facilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with prospective student-athletes, student athletes, staff, and University personnel.
• Possession of a valid vehicle operators license.
• Ability to work in variable or severe weather
• Ability to bend, move, and lift between 26-75 pounds.
• Able to lift or move up to at least 25 pounds.
• Conduct oneself with integrity for the betterment of the department, university, and community.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and a commitment to adhering to all the policies, rules and regulations of MSU, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA

Desired Qualifications

• A master’s degree in sports administration preferred.
