Position Summary
Applications are invited for postdoctoral (research associate) positions at Michigan State University working with Prof. Chong-Yu Ruan. The initial appointment will be for one year, but renewal may be possible for up to two additional years dependent on performance and funding. The tentative start date is expected to be in March 2023, but this is flexible.
DUTIES: Experimental condensed matter with an emphasis on ultrafast spectroscopy and ultrafast electron diffraction and microscopy studies of quantum materials and nanostructured materials at Michigan State University.

Required Degree
Doctorate -Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or related field.
Minimum Requirements
Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or related field. Experience in the following areas is desirable: ultrafast spectroscopy, ultrafast diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, 2D materials device fabrication, and vacuum technology. The candidate will have proven ability to independently solve problems, design and conduct experiments, and good communication and collaboration skills to lead research efforts.
