Position Summary

The Broad College of Business is seeking an accomplished, responsive, and collaborative Academic Human Resources Administrator to join our team environment. The successful candidate will contribute to our College-wide collaborative model of human resources to coordinate and support academic human resources and faculty and specialists affairs.

The Academic Human Resources Administrator will play an important role in facilitating the recruitment, hiring, on-boarding, form processing, and reviews associated with faculty and academic staff. The Academic Human Resources Administrator is supervised by the Broad College’s Human Resources Manager and works closely with the Associate Dean for Faculty and Doctoral Programs.


  • Responsible for managing the HR for Faculty and Academic Staff employees
  • Provide human resources leadership in the strategic management of the Broad College; advise unit administrators on academic human resources policies and procedures
  • Administer and coordinate the hiring processes, including form approvals, for faculty and academic staff personnel actions for the Broad College.
  • Oversee faculty and academic staff performance appraisal process and procedures
  • Manage and coordinate Broad College Summer School and Off-Campus appointment processes
  • Coordinate the Reappointment, Promotion and Tenure process for the tenure-system faculty
  • Coordinate the Continuing System Academic Specialist, review and promotion processes
  • Coordinate Designation B processes
  • Enhance faculty and academic hiring processes to support the College’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
  • Advise and, where appropriate, serve on faculty and academic staff hiring committees to ensure an ethical and inclusive hiring process.
  • Coordinate and monitor all FOIA requests
  • Manage the faculty recruiting process at the Dean’s Level: processing interview approval forms and reviewing offer letters and coordinating with the unit and Associate Dean for Faculty and Doctoral Programs.
  • Coordinate New Faculty Orientation
  • Creates and oversees the selection and use of training materials and advises the staff of the availability of training materials.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources Manager and Associate Dean of Faculty and Doctoral Programs to enhance the relationship between the College and Office of the Provost’s: Faculty and Academic Staff Affairs Office.
  • Manage the endowed position renewals
  • Direct and participate in special projects and provide back-up for other human resources functions
  • Coordinate operational activities and perform related administrative duties as assigned
  • Assists in the development of policies and procedures for the college that will solve important and complex problems and leverage resources to accomplish strategic goals
  • Other duties as assigned

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four year college degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or a field related to the employing unit; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in managing human resource functions, designing and implementing training programs and human resource/labor relations management and computer applications; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
