The Fang Research Group in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at Michigan State University is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher interested in the fabrication and characterization of materials for next-generation battery applications. We are particularly interested in developing lithium-sulfur batteries and sodium batteries. In addition to the primary research responsibilities, the successful applicant will be able to participate in other lab and CHEMS departmental activities including assisting with training of undergraduate and graduate students, report writing, and grant writing. This position is initially for one year, renewable annually based on performance. The position includes salary and fringe benefits for one year. The successful applicant will be involved in developing materials for next generation battery applications.

Doctorate -Materials Science or related field
- Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in Materials Science, or related field by the start of the position.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong chemistry background, familiar with various characterization methods and rich experience in synthesis and characterization of battery materials and battery device fabrication.
- Industrial experiences in battery manufacturing are desired.
