Position Summary

The (Merewitz) Holm plant physiology laboratory at MSU is looking for a post-doctoral researcher. The research will focus on winterkill and other abiotic stresses of turfgrasses and agricultural grass species such as wheat and barley. The candidate will accomplish objectives within a Specialty Crop Research Initiative focused on winterkill of turfgrasses and other funded projects. The person should have experience in plant biotechnology, plant molecular biology, or related fields. The research may include plant tissue culture, gene cloning and silencing. The post-doctoral research associate will be responsible for plant care and maintenance, designing and performing experiments, analyzing data, helping with manuscript and grant preparation, and training other lab personnel.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Plant Biology or related

Minimum Requirements

Candidates for the position should have a Ph.D., a record of publication in peer-reviewed journals and a strong background in plant physiology, plant biochemistry, or plant molecular biology.

Desired Qualifications

Experience and interest in turfgrass or crop species such as wheat or barley and winterkill stresses.
