The Program Manager will coordinate activities and data management for multiple NIH-funded projects focused on social and policy determinants of women’s health during pregnancy and postpartum. The Program Manager will oversee day-to-day study operations, including taking a leadership role in study preparation (e.g., developing study materials and IRB applications), coordinating and monitoring research activities at other sites, maintaining and improving the study’s quality assurance procedures, providing human subjects protection oversight, tracking and reporting study progress, and preparing additional grant applications. The project manager will also have the opportunity to contribute to the science, including data management and analysis, result interpretation, and manuscript preparations. Also includes other duties as assigned.
This position will be at the MSU campus in East Lansing, with some opportunity for telework. The position is anticipated to start immediately.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
The job requires: knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through completion of one or two years of post-bachelor degree work, such as a Master's in the specific field of research employment; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in research methodologies, writing reports, supervision, software, data interpretation and handling in area related to research being performed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and may require special licensing or certification in the field related to the area of employment.
- Master’s degree in epidemiology or equivalent experience in epidemiology or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest and potential for scientific research.
- Attention to details and multi-tasking; ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge about human subject protection and IRB requirements.
- Knowledge of statistical analyses and programming experience using statistical software programs (e.g., SAS).
