Michigan State University Counseling and Psychiatric Services (MSU CAPS) seeks to hire an Intern (post-doctoral resident or post-internship clinical fellow doctoral level psychology trainee) for the 2020-2021 academic year.
This position will provide services and receive training in multiculturally-focused, inclusive, collaborative, holistic health service psychology within a collegiate integrated mental health environment. Applicants will receive both experiential and didactic training that will include both direct and indirect service as well as an opportunity to choose from pre-determined concentration areas to focus a portion of that training. Direct services typically include individual, couple/relationship, group counseling, drop-in triage/screening, consultation that is clinical in nature, crisis counseling, among other areas. Indirect services typically include supervision, weekly didactic trainings, staff meetings, case management, independent projects, and other duties as assigned.
Concentration areas are selected by applicant after they have accepted the offer. Each of the following concentration areas will be available for the applicant to select from upon acceptance of the offer: Collegiate mental health administration concentration; Intensive Clinical Services Unit (ICSU) concentration; Multicultural Engagement and Outreach concentration; Psychodynamic concentration.
Masters -Professional Psychology
Doctorate -Professional Psychology
Applicants must have completed an APA-accredited doctoral internship in professional psychology by start date. If a post-doctoral applicant, you must have graduated with a doctoral degree in professional psychology from an APA-accredited program and must be license eligible in the state of MI. If a post-internship applicant, you must currently be enrolled in an APA-accredited doctoral program in professional psychology and have “all but dissertation” status.

Please include with your application a cover letter, CV, three letters of recommendation including one from the primary internship supervisor, and letter from the Director of Clinical Training stating enrollment is in good standing/on-track for graduation, or official transcripts.
