The College of Music at Michigan State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Music Theory beginning Fall 2019. The Music Theory Area at Michigan State University interacts with nearly every student in the College of Music: undergraduate majors in performance, music education, jazz studies, and composition; Master’s and Doctoral students in performance, composition, and conducting; and Master’s students in music theory, whom we prepare with the analytical, practical, research, and pedagogical skills needed for doctoral study and for successful music theory teaching at the collegiate level.
