The Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics seeks to fill a Research Associate position in enzyme biochemical characterization and structure analysis.
One position is available immediately for a Research Associate with experience in molecular biology and protein biochemistry, ideally with structure biology skills, to work jointly in the laboratories of Robert Hausinger and Jian Hu on an NSF-funded project to characterize the Fe(II)/2-oxoglutarate dependent ethylene-forming enzyme. We seek an excellent scientist with hands on training in molecular biology, protein expression/purification, and structure determination by x-ray crystallography.
This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term position with reappointment contingent on satisfactory performance and available funding.
Doctorate -Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biol
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology or other field closely related to protein structure and enzyme characterization.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated skills in molecular biology and protein purification. Experience in structure characterization is highly preferred.
