An NIH-funded postdoctoral research associate position is available to study virus-host interactions in human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and oncogenesis in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at Michigan State University. https://mmg.natsci.msu.edu/people/faculty/pyeon-dohun/
A successful candidate will focus on studying host immune dysregulation during HPV-associated cancer progression using in vitro and in vivo models as well as human specimens. Candidates must have a PhD, MD or equivalent degree in virology, immunology, cancer biology, or related fields and publications in top peer reviewed journals along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently within a research team. Expertise in tumor virology, virus preparation, high-resolution microscopy, mouse infection models, and/or bioinformatics is desirable. Salary is commensurate with experience and at NIH postdoctoral stipend levels.
This is a full-time, 12-month, fixed-term position, with reappointment conditional on satisfactory performance and available funding.
Doctorate -Virology, immunology, cancer biology or equivalent
Candidates must have a PhD, MD or equivalent degree in virology, immunology, cancer biology, or related fields and published work in peer reviewed journals. Must be able to work independently within a research team.
Expertise in tumor virology, virus preparation, high-resolution microscopy, mouse infection models, and/or bioinformatics is desired.
