Position Summary

Michigan State University seeks to fill a part-time fixed-term instructor or assistant professor position in Linguistics, with specialization in phonology. Duties will involve teaching one undergraduate course on introduction to phonetics and phonology each semester in academic year 2019-2020.


The position will begin August 16, 2019 as a non-renewable appointment in the Department of Linguistics and Germanic, Slavic, Asian and African Languages. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications.

Required Degree


Minimum Requirements

ABD or PhD in linguistics at the time of appointment. Experience in teaching undergraduate linguistics courses in the US, and research experience in phonology/phonetics are preferred.
