Seeking a postdoctoral associate to support the spin-up of research activities related neonatal and maternal injury biomechanics related to the birth process. Dr. Michele Grimm joined Michigan State University as the Wielenga Creative Engineering Endowed Professor in January 2019. She has previously developed an internationally recognized research program that has developed rigid body models of the neonatal response to childbirth, with particular focus on neonatal brachial plexus palsy. She is looking to expand her research program in this area to continue collaborations with obstetricians and add collaborations with experimental biomedical engineering laboratories so that the models can be expanded to investigate the mechanisms of both neonatal and maternal injuries that occur during the birth process.
