Position Summary

MSU AgBioResearch invites applications for an Administrative Associate II position to serve as the Assistant to the Director for Field Operations and Infrastructure.  This position will be located in the MSU AgBioResearch (ABR) Director's Office on the MSU campus and assists the Directors to maximize the effectiveness of field laboratories and related infrastructure to facilitate scientists in delivering the scientific mission.  Includes working with MSU Land Management Office (LMO), Commodity Groups around the State of Michigan, Farm Managers, Research Center Managers and others.  This position will serve as an integral member of the ABR and LMO leadership group and works to link faculty and research staff to departments and ABR infrastructure and field laboratories on campus and across the state to facilitate program execution and collaboration with MSUE and external stakeholders.  Will serve as liaison between ABR Director's Office, LMO and academic units to link program with facilities and serve as liaison between ABR, LMO and farms and research centers to insure regulatory compliance and a safe working environment.  This position will provide leadership and oversight to optimize the generation of in-kind contributions of equipment, supplies and other materials to support farm operations and reduce costs as well as other duties as assigned by ABR Directors. 

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in agricultural production, agricultural science, business, administration or related field; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in agriculture or agricultural business management, agricultural equipment or supplies industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Ability to effectively communicate with faculty, administrators, stakeholders and personnel both on- and off-campus.
