Monitors projects and curriculum by managing records and databases relating to student performance; collects, compiles, and interprets information and monitors the activities of the office in order to assist in basic curriculum assistant functioning; compiles evaluation reports; interacts with third and fourth year medical students in order to provide information, explain policies, resolve problems and /or provide section services; interacts with statewide campus hospital staff members, department chairs, and clinical faculty in order to provide information and develop, coordinate and implement curricular requirements; acts as a technical support resource for students and community faculty; actively involved in the development of presentation materials for years 'three and four' curriculum; may assist with the maintenance of the section web site; interacts with faculty and content developers in order to discuss and research material; travels infrequently within lower Michigan.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Health Education or a related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in office procedures related to education delivery and administration; word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation and webpage software; knowledge of medical terminology; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license.
Bachelor’s in science with emphasis in biologic sciences education; ability to coordinate schedules and activities related to clerkship students, faculty, and physicians at more than 25 sites across the state of Michigan, interacting with directors of medical education, clinical faculty, and administrative assistants; some knowledge and experience using learning management systems; high proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Web-based software, database systems, and online systems; familiarity with data processing; excellent written and oral communication skills; proven ability to think critically, be a team player, and take initiative; ability to search for and summarize information and develop persuasive documents; customer service experience; self-motivated and an independent worker; ability to multi-task.
