The position's primary responsibility is to teach an introductory plant biology course to non majors. This position may also include some lab based courses as well as assisting the Chair and the Associate Chair with curriculum development of these courses. Collaboration with students during classes, holding office hours for student assistance and providing education oversight to undergraduates is expected. This position will also supervise and train graduate students to provide teaching assistance in the classroom. This is a 12 month position subject to annual review and with the possibility of reappointment contingent on funding.
Masters -Plant Biology, Horticulture, Ecology
Doctorate -Plant Biology, Ecology, or related field
Master's degree in Plant Biology or related field.
A doctorate in plant biology is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have undergraduate teaching experience in active-learning, student-centered classes. Research experience in lab based courses is desired.
