Creative Production Manager

Position Summary

The Division of Residential and Hospitality Services (RHS) is seeking a highly organized problem solver to manage workflow and production process for a highly productive, in-house creative department of designers and editors. Candidate should possess a customer focus, a strong attention to detail, an entrepreneurial approach to production and a familiarity with the creative process. Role will report to the Creative Services manager but will work across the creative team and with departmental brand managers to ensure on-schedule delivery of high quality work. Responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with RHS creative customers; fielding job requests and (in conjunction with the creative manager) allocating creative resources; project management of multidisciplinary projects with multiple stakeholders and complex sets of deliverables; overseeing and refining overall production processes, including the use of project management tools and communication protocol; managing digital assets; managing interaction with external vendors (print, video, etc.), bidding, managing schedules; executing some in-house printing / bindery and managing supply inventory; applying or developing work procedures to meet production timelines.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which would normally be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Graphic Arts, Advertising, Marketing, Business, English, Journalism, or Public Relations; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in publications production, advertising, public and media relations, writing, or editing; familiarity with computer applications relating to word processing, photo-typesetting, design, and page layout; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Minimum four years experience in production / project management roles in marketing related industries; Ad agency or in-house agency experience; strong knowledge of offset and digital printing processes, specifying paper and other substrates (i.e., permanent signage), color and ink; adept at getting estimates and quantity price breaks and requesting and reviewing proofs; familiarity with and understanding of the production and design processes in relation to print, digital, video and interactive work; strong knowledge of and experience with project management processes; proficiency in Microsoft Office
