Position Summary

The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics invites applications for a tenured or tenure-system faculty position (Assistant, Associate, Full Professor) intended to strengthen our existing NIH research and research training programs in psychiatric and drug dependence epidemiology. This position offers a vibrant NIH-oriented university environment, a competitive salary, and a start-up package, supported by state general funds.  The successful candidate will have a demonstrated capacity for field-driving epidemiological studies on at least one of the syndromes in the top rank of global disease burdens (e.g., mood disorders, schizophrenia) or drug dependence, with career goals that encompass epidemiology and prevention research supported by pertinent NIH agencies (especially NIDA, NIAAA, and NIMH).  The successful candidate will be expected to become a partner and leader of extramurally funded research and T32 research training programs based in the department, teach and mentor general epidemiology graduate and medical school students and postdoctoral fellows, as well as to recruit and mentor trainees in the faculty member’s own areas of specialization. Adjunct appointments in clinical and basic research departments are possible.

Desired Qualifications
