Position Summary

The Administrative Assistant for the Center for Nursing Research, Scholarship & Innovation provides administrative support to the Associate Dean for Research; collects, interprets, processes information and monitors research activities for faculty in the College of Nursing; manages data and creates spreadsheets and reports to inform the College Administrative Team; manages contracts with various local hospitals to develop research programs; provides administrative support to the Research Committee, including event coordination for monthly research seminars, presentations, visiting scholars and the annual research retreat; coordinates faculty external mentorship program; and markets nursing research through submission of material for the college eNews publication, display of posters and publications, exhibit booth and event coordination at conferences, and maintenance of the research and PhD program website.  This position provides first level supervision to student staff employed in the Center for Nursing Research, Scholarship & Innovation (CNRSI) .

 

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through the first two or three years of college, such as an Associate's degree; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation software and/or desktop publishing, web page software; office procedures; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; knowledge of University policies and procedures; familiarity with EBS financial transaction processing; familiarity with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook; excellent written and verbal communication skills; proofreading experience including correct usage of grammar, writing and editing skills; ability to multi-task;excellent customer service skills and must be detailed-oriented; proficient use of Microsoft Suite including Outlook; ability to work independently and use sound judgment;
