Position Summary

The College of Communication Arts & Sciences at Michigan State University (MSU) is seeking an individual to serve as a Humans Resources Coordinator within the functional staff structure of the College of Communication Arts and Sciences. The candidate will work closely with the director of human resources, as well as department administrators, college leadership, faculty, and staff; and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of personnel related transactions supporting the core business of multiple academic units.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in human resources, a related social science field, or a field related to the operations of the department; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a human resources function or an area related to departmental operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

One to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in human resources processes; working knowledge of MSU policies and procedures; experience with SAP/EBS functionality and reporting; strong written and verbal communication skills; multi-tasking abilities, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks, establish priorities, and meet deadlines; an orientation toward customer service and teamwork; strong work ethic, and demonstrated ability to work on a diverse scope of projects with creative and practical problem solving skills, and sound judgment.
